Living in the Houses

Boarders join a proud tradition in houses such as Winston and Spencer. Each house is led by a housemaster, resident staff and senior prefects who ensure safety, discipline and camaraderie. Boarders share meals, prep sessions and sport alongside day scholars, strengthening the Bulldog bond.

Daily Routine

Morning

Wake-up, roll-call, breakfast and morning prep before classes. Tutors check diaries and goals for the day.

School Day

Classes from morning assembly through afternoon, with supervised study periods and lab work.

Afternoon Sport

Training in rugby, cricket, soccer, hockey, basketball, swimming and other codes depending on the term.

Evening

Supper, quiet prep, house meetings and lights-out. Weekends include chapel, community service and fixtures.

Support & Community

Academic Support

Resident staff supervise evening prep, monitor assignments and arrange subject clinics before major examinations. Older Winstonians mentor juniors, reinforcing study habits.

Co-curricular & Community Life

Boarders participate in clubs, pipe band practice and inter-house events. Trips, chapel services and outreach projects encourage gratitude and leadership beyond the classroom.
